Is it impossible to find peace in a world that feels out of control?
Is it possible to find peace in a world that feels increasingly out of control?
Not if we remain bound to the noise, the pressure, the endless demands and fixed meanings that leave us depleted. But there is another place we can inhabit. One that doesn’t thrive on anxiety, stress or despair. A quieter, more truthful place. Here are a few ways we might begin to return to it:
- Rituals of creation whether artistic or physical have the power to shatter the hardened structures that hold our hearts hostage. Ritual art, especially when timed or contained, can reconnect us to ourselves and open unexpected doorways.
- Daily meditation, prayer or mindful reflection even something as simple as a walk or sitting with the day’s unfolding can help us locate our story again. How are you in your life, not just doing it?
- Honouring your gift, whatever it may be, places you directly in the presence of something undeniable. To neglect it invites a kind of grief that quietly consumes us. Listening to it, even a little, brings us back to life.
- Kindness turned inward offering yourself gentleness in the face of suffering is a radical act. It grows our capacity for compassion and builds the resilience we need when life asks more of us.
- Witnessing the ways we self-sabotage, and having the courage to step away from people or patterns that diminish us, is not selfish, it’s sacred. We are allowed to choose beauty. We are allowed to choose sustainability. We are allowed to choose ourselves.
I know first hand from experience how hard it is to come back to yourself when life feels too much. These are simple threads for you to pull upon. That you may find are attached to your larger story. Passages and paths back to something ancient and necessary, things we were never meant to live without.

You’re warmly invited to join me this Monday 12th May at 8:30pm at Hitchin Lavender for the Full Moon Meditation Workshop. I’ve shaped it with great care as a space of return to yourself, to the sacred, to something deeper and more nourishing. Towards a journey to regeneration and peace.
Or if you prefer and feel the time is right, I have two spaces left for one to one consultation. Please drop me a line if you’d like to discuss if this option is right for you.
See you on the other side.
Love
John
